Ingredients
1/2 lb. goat
Note: ask for small pieces (“curry pieces”), only leg, with bone.
3 tbsp green chutney (cilantro + green chili)
Note: to make at home, grind 1/2 bundle of cilantro and 7-8 chilis (with at least 3-4 tbsp water)
1 tbsp adruck + lassan (garlic + ginger) paste
4 serving spoons (big spoons) of crushed tomatoes
1 small tomato cut into random chunks
3/4 tbsp salt
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp garam masala
half a fistfull of chopped cilantro
3 serving spoons of oil
half cup talivi pyaz (desi fried onions)
2 medium potatoes, cut into chunks
Instructions
- Put oil in medium heat until hot
- Put everything in (besides cilantro), cook for 1 min stirring, use wooden spoon
- Add enough water to just cover meat
- Cook a little lower than medium heat, covered with lid, ~30 mins
- Then take out a piece of meat and check how soft, if not soft enough then add more water and cook longer. Should break apart at my finger
- If it’s dry, stir it a bit so it cooks through for a few mins.
- Add potato and half the cilantro and mix for 2-3 min. Then add 1/2 cup of water, depending on how much is left. Turn heat to low and cover. Cook until potato is cooked. Oil will rise to the top.
- Rest of cilantro is for garnish.
